In Bill Simmons mailbag column from today he had this little line about the Mavericks centers for the last 10 years....since Cuban spent $250 million (and counting) on Shawn Bradley, Raef LaFrentz, DeSagana Diop, Erick Dampier and Marcin Gortat these past 10 years... I knew that all those guys had horrible contracts, but, wow.

Brett Perryman has a blog entry up this morning talking about the Rangers treatment of Derek Holland so far this season. I was going to write pretty much the same thing but Brett does a better job than I could, so go that post out. I do still have a couple things to say about it though. There was a national audience for the game tonight. The Rangers were playing well, Scott Feldman was shutting down the Rays, runs were being scored without homeruns, things were going very well. Then the bottom of the 6th inning happened. Michael Young was on second, David Murphy on first with Marlon Byrd at bat. The Rangers were up 5-2 and an insurance run or two would have been nice. So

Headed out to the Ballpark tonight to check out the Rangers and Rays for what looked to be a great matchup. Turned out it was with the Rangers winning 3-1 behind a great effort by Tommy Hunter to shut down one of the hottest offenses in the game. So the Mavs have picked the guy they're targeting during free agency, Marcin Gortat. So what does 2 years worth of 12.1 minutes per game, 3.7 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game get you in today's sports economy? That would be a 5 year deal starting at $5.6 million. Of course there's a chance Orlando could match the offer, but they'd probably be crazy to do so at that much money. But

Ever since construction started on the new Cowboys Stadium I've been extremely interested in the project. I lived in Arlington at the time right next to Hurricane Harbor so I was able to watch it go up daily in it's early stages. Once I moved a little further away from there I'd still drive by every few weeks to check the place out. So once the place was finished and tours started up I
